Nosferatu Redux

Nosferatu Redux is a sound artwork made as a response to the internationally acclaimed German Expressionism collection at Leicester Museum and Art Gallery.

Artist Les Hayden made an original score for the 1922 German Expressionist film ‘Nosferatu’, then deconstructed and rebuilt the sounds to respond to the work in the German Expressionism gallery. The resulting sound artwork explores the parallels between German Expressionist art and filmmaking.

Nosferatu Redux has a duration of 10 minutes, and will be played at:

11:30, 12:30, 13:30, 14:30, 15:30 and 16:30* [*16:30 on weekends only]

This soundscape has been commissioned as part of Leicester Art Week. Leicester Art Week is a visual art festival produced by the Leicester Visual Arts network. Leicester Art Week runs from Friday 12th to Sunday 21st November and presents a programme of exhibitions, commissions and learning events. The aim is to develop arts audiences in Leicester and raise the profile of the city among regional audiences, artists and peer organisations.
