Dementia Action Week 17-23 May 2021

Raising awareness

Led by Alzheimer’s Society, Dementia Action Week is a national event which this year takes place 17th - 23rd May 2021. It is an opportunity to raise awareness of the condition and enable people to come together to take action to improve the lives of people affected by dementia.

Sharing stories and memories with friends and families makes us happy which improves our health and wellbeing. Museums have objects and resources that help us remember past experiences and can provide ideas to share memories together either in the museum or in our homes.

The Museum Memory Trails are a resource created to stimulate the memories of the person you care for who's living with Dementia. Use the Museum Memory Trails at home triggering memories and sparking conversations and when our museums reopen come and visit and see the objects in person.

We provide several activities and resources to help those living with dementia and their carers so take a look at the Health & Wellbeing section of our website and come and visit the museums and share memories together.
