Description

Stunning images are unveiled as Wildlife Photographer of the Year arrives at Leicester Museum & Art Gallery.

Wildlife Photographer of the Year

The world-renowned exhibition is on loan from the Natural History Museum in London, and is the must-see exhibition of the summer.

The images on display capture animal behaviour, present spectacular species and showcase the breath-taking diversity of the natural world. Whilst inspiring curiosity and wonder, the images also remind us of the fragility of our planet and our responsibility to protect it.

The exhibition also includes Nature on Your Doorstep, organised by Leicester Museum and Art Gallery. Nature on Your Doorstep is a digital display featuring outstanding photographs of wildlife taken by East Midlands residents out on daily walks during lockdown.

Wildlife Photographer of the Year is the most prestigious photography event of its kind. It provides a global platform, showcasing the natural world’s most astonishing and challenging sights for over 50 years.

Launched in 1965, when it attracted just 361 entries, today the competition receives over 49,000 entries from all over the world.

Please note that timed tickets are required to visit Leicester Museum & Art Gallery.
