Leicester Society of Artists – Meet the Artist

As part of the LSA Annual Exhibition 2021 (7-31 October) members of Leicester Society of Artists will be at the museum every Saturday afternoon in October where you can talk to them about their work and ask questions about the exhibition.

Meet the Artist: David Clarke

"A very gestural watercolour endeavouring to capture the mood and atmosphere of the month of September," says David Clark. "Intentionally no detail, just visualising the colour and light of a fading summer with as few brush strokes as possible."

Meet the Artist: Danielle Vaughan

"My practice has two strands," says Danielle Vaughan. "I create collages from ripped paper and platforms for collaborative participatory projects inviting others to work alongside me around societal issues. The connecting thread that runs through both are slices of humanity sifted through a playful lens of medicinal humour. My work has featured on Sky TV's 'Portrait Artist of The Year' series and is in permanent collections at Blenheim Palace and Leicester Museum & Art Gallery. I was shortlisted for the Market Harborough Museum's Suffragette Art Fund 2019 and recently completed my MA in Fine Art at De Montfort University. My time is divided between working from my home studio in Leicester and running workshops."

No tickets are required for your visit. The museum can only allow a certain number of visitors in at a time, which may result in a socially distance queue before gaining entry.
