The Leicester International Music Festival (LIMF) was founded in 1989.
Nicholas Daniel, the oboe virtuoso, was appointed as Artistic Director in April 2003. The Festival's distinguished Patrons include the composers Sir James McMillan KBE and Thea Musgrave CBE, and BBC Ceramicist, Lars Tharp.
LIMF continues to attract international recognition for the high quality of its musical performances, attracting world-class artists to its unrivalled programme of lunchtime concerts and assembling a superb team of artists for our Festival in September.
LIMF is committed to educational and outreach activities, both within the Festival period and outside it, including the commissioning of new works, increasing the diversity of its programming both in terms of gender and ethnicity, and in exploring new developments designed to reach new audiences, including encouraging family and youth participation.
