Collections Spotlight - Travel Posters

A collection of travel posters that came into the collection in 1923.

Published: 2 January 2023

Travel posters became very popular in the early 1900’s and were originally made for advertising purposes. They were used by hotels, airlines, and the tourism industry during the time when travel was booming.

They are vibrant, with simple designs to catch the eye and highlight places of interest, showing how you could get there and / or what you could expect to find at the end of your journey.
