"I love this statue. The woman carrying two children whilst feeding a third seems to sum up parenting perfectly to me and the fact that the nanny goat is carrying them all whilst feeding her own kid rounds it off perfectly. The piece is one of a pair with the Welsh Tailor riding his own goat.

I have chosen this statue in celebration of World Breastfeeding Awareness Week. It is one of several depictions of breastfeeding we have in our collections including “Black Mother” on display in the German Expressionism Gallery and several Egyptian figures of Isis feeding Horus".
