Overview
We are looking to add to our team of volunteer guides. We currently offer guided tours at Newarke Houses, Leicester Guildhall, Belgrave Hall and Abbey Pumping Station.
Volunteers offer tours to site visitors using pre-agreed scripts that the volunteers have been supported in learning.
This is great opportunity to join the museums team and learn more about some of the incredible buildings and collections the city has to offer.
Volunteers must be happy to speak to the public and work within the framework of the pre-agreed script which volunteers are welcome to add to and develop in agreement with the museums team.
Main duties
To deliver the scripted to tour to the public and to be polite and engaging.
Skills needed
To speak clearly and confidently in front of people, to be able to lead a tour group around a space, to be able to learn and follow a script, to be interested in the subject matter and in relaying that information to a diverse range of the general public.
Additional information
You need to be 18 or over to volunteer in this role.
