Leicester has been besieged twice by Royal armies, once in 1173 and again in 1645. Both times, events had a major impact on the town and were significant in shaping national politics.

In The Sieges of Leicester, Mathew Morris tells the story of the two sieges and looks at the archaeological evidence and how it is helping reappraise what happened.
