Napoleon once famously stated ‘I am the Revolution’. And he was. Once. However, in 1814 he was banished into exile, banished to the little island of Elba, by the European powers. Perhaps not surprisingly, he got bored there in one big hurry. And this is where I pick up his story in Napoleon’s 100 Days. With a force of just over a 1000 men he escaped from Elba, planning to march on Paris. As if that wasn’t enough, he would potentially be going to war, again, against his European foes and against Old Nosey. Not for nothing was Napoleon known as the Nightmare of Europe. And nightmares do recur.
